NeuroKinetic Therapy®

NeuroKinetic Therapy NKT® is a powerful healing methodology that can be used both as an assessment tool and as a rehabilitative technique. It gets to the root of chronic and acute muscular tightness and pain, relieving it through working with the motor control center (MCC) of the brain itself in the cerebellum. David Weinstock, one of the principle founders of this manual therapy, describes it as “quick, cost effective treatment for permanent injury rehabilitation.” It can bring almost instant results and is very effective in correcting misalignment and poor posture, preventing injury, and enhancing athletic performance.

The science of motor control theory states that the motor control center in the cerebellum stores all the coordination patterns of the body. It is directed by the limbic system and the cerebral cortex to not only create movement patterns (such as when a baby learns to stand), but also to create substitute movement patterns when we are injured (compensation patterns).

A good example is a baby learning to stand. Each time the baby tries to stand and falls the motor control center stores the successful aspects of each attempt. When that program contains enough successful information the baby is finally able to stand. Conversely, a dysfunctional movement program can be created by injury. For example, in a whiplash, the posterior neck muscles become very tight and painful. No matter how much they are manipulated or stretched they stubbornly remain that way. Why? Because your body has locked down on a protective compensation pattern that was necessary at the time of trama to prevent major injury.

NKT® uses strategy, not force to achieve results. It can provide solutions for conditions that have not responded to previous treatments.
